Salvatore (Sam) Saraceno, 97 from Endicott, N.Y. Passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving wife Elizabeth, family and friends on July 16, 2026.
Sam was predeceased by his parents Ignacio and Soprana Saraceno, his brothers Anthony, John, Tony ( Anna), John (Helen), Gregory (Josephine), Frank (Barbara) and a sister Antoinette Saraceno. Sam is survived by his adoring wife of 42 years Elizabeth Saraceno, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and countless dear friends.
Sam was very proud of his service in the US Army as a Communications Specialist. He received his education at R.I.T. with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Applied Mathematics from SUNY Binghamton. He was proudly employed with IBM for 28 years, retiring in 1985 as an Advisory Engineer.
Sam was a devoted husband and a devote Catholic, he was a Parishioner at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Endicott, N.Y. He was extremely generous with his donations to various food banks and other charitable organizations. He was the kind of man that never had an adverse word to say about anyone. At age 55 he found the love of his life in Elizabeth Dehm. Elizabeth feels “Everyone needs a Sammy in their life”.
Sam loved a good joke and laugh. He would always bring a smile to faces as he entered a room. He was a fierce competitor in many card games, one of his favorites was called “13”. He would often win the game leaving the players bewildered at losing. He will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Mass for Sam will be held on Thursday, July 23rd at 11 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 701 W. Main Street, Endicott. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends on Thursday at Church from 10 am until Mass time at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
