Stanley Sherwood

Stanley Sherwood, 90, of Endwell died Friday, February 27, 2015 at the New York State Veteran’s Home, Oxford, NY. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years Shirley; a son Robert (Maureen) Sherwood, Cary, NC; daughter Karen (Kenneth) Reynolds, Indianapolis, IN; nephew Donald (Anne) Sherwood, Groton, NY and a niece Anne Ouellette, Roanoke, VA. He was a retired I.B.M. Corp employee, member of its Quarter Century Club and was a life member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #1977, Endicott. Stanley was a graduate of Ithaca High School and Ithaca College. He was a veteran of W.W. II, serving in the US Army, participating in the D-Day Invasion and was awarded the Purple Heart. Some of the many enjoyments of his life besides his family were golfing, skiing and traveling.
Services will be held Monday 3 pm from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Monday from 2 pm until service time at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Animal Care Council, 131 Washington Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
