Sylvia Fay Fulk. Feb 12, 1940 – May 31, 2026

Sylvia Fay Fulk, having led a fruitful life in both Canada and the United States, passed away on May 31st, 2026.

Her parents, Irving Wheatcroft and Doris Porter, both English citizens, immigrated at the beginning of World War II to Canada and settled in Toronto, where their daughter Sylvia was born in 1940. Sylvia was raised in Toronto, attending Bishop Strachan School. In 1958, she and her mother Doris moved to New York State, where Sylvia married Lloyd Fulk. Living briefly in Shady, Candor, and Syracuse NY; they finally settled in Endicott in 1965. Lloyd worked for IBM in Owego NY. Sylvia worked hard as a housewife raising three boys. As the boys got older, she started working for the Press and Sun Bulletin newspaper, running the charity sponsored by the newspaper, Lend-a-Hand fund, for 26 years. She also worked part time for the used clothing store Fabulous Finds in Vestal and Endwell and ME School District drama department. Sylvia was involved in many volunteer activities over the years -- UE School District, Boy Scouts, and church activities to name a few. Her hobbies included gardening, bowling, reading, craftwork, floral and arranging. Sylvia belonged to the Garden Club of Endwell. Sylvia and her husband enjoyed travelling to several countries including England, Norway, Denmark, Germany, and Italy.

She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd A. Fulk, her parents Irving H. Wheatcroft and Doris Porter, Stepfather Paul Dieguez, half-brother and his wife Laddie and Christobel Wheatcroft, uncle and aunt Stanley and Nona Porter, in-laws Russell and Estella Fulk, and sister-in-law Jean Walton.

Sylvia is survived by her children George Fulk of Marble Falls TX, David (and wife Donna) Fulk of Yorktown VA, and Steven (and wife Dori) Fulk of Horseheads NY; six grandchildren, Benjamin Fulk of Newport News VA, Meagan GrayBray, Amanda Fulk, and Laura Sanabria of Oklahoma, Jennifer Fulk of Watkins Glen NY, and Michael Fulk of Washington DC; three great-grandchildren, Willow Bray, Annabelle Alvarez, and Emma Alverez of Oklahoma; and cousins Brian (Maureen) Porter of Windsor England.

Funeral Services for Sylvia will be held on Tuesday June 16th at 11 am at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 200 Jefferson Ave, Endicott. Entombment will be at the convenience of the family in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on the 16th at Church from 10 am until Service time at 11 am.
