Tom (’Yom”) was a 1963 graduate of Dunmore High School and a 1967 graduate of the University of Scranton. He was proud to be the first member of his family to go to college and worked tirelessly to put himself through school. He served in the US Army Reserves and went onto a 40+ year career in finance management with IBM. Tom loved all sports, from golfing, to attending F1 Grand Prix races in Watkins Glen, to being a lifelong diehard NY Yankees fan, to enjoying a 30-year stint as a season ticket holder with Carol for Binghamton AHL hockey. He was a devoted and supportive grandfather who could always be found on the sidelines or in the stands at every sporting event that he could be, rooting on his grandchildren. Tom will be fondly remembered for his devotion to his family, as he worked hard to provide for them and give them opportunities that he did not have.
The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the incredible staff, volunteers, and leadership of the Mercy House of the Southern Tier for caring for Tom in his final days. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate expressions of sympathy in Tom’s memory be made to the Mercy House of the Southern Tier.
