On July 24th, 2025, Thomas E. Ivey (78) passed away peacefully at UHS Wilson Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Annette (Lannon) Ivey. He is survived by his wife, Eileen (Sullivan) Ivey; his children, Suzanne (Jason) Wilks and Maureen Mihalko; his grandchildren, Brandon (Sara) Suber, Meghan Mihalko, Matthew Mihalko, Gavin Suber, and Ashley Mihalko; his great grandchild, Theo Suber; his sister, Mary Pat (William) Palmer; his sister in-law, Diane (John) Weld and his brother in-law, William (Camille) Sullivan.
Tom was the quintessential family man, while maintaining a successful career at IBM from which he retired after 25 years. Raised in Susquehanna, PA his parents instilled in him what some would now consider to be “good old-fashioned values.” In the summer of 1967, he met his wife to be, Eileen, and they became inseparable. They would go on to be blessed with nearly 56 years of loving marriage. Tom was a doting father, and instilled his two daughters with those same “good old-fashioned values” with which he was raised. Years later, he would be blessed with the births of his five grandchildren, who would come to know him as “Papa.” From that point forward, Tom never missed an opportunity to pull out his phone and gush about his grandchildren. More than this, he would never allow himself to miss a single event in which his grandchildren participated, even if it meant attending virtually. Outwardly, Tom appeared to be a quiet man, but when you would least expect it, his one-liners would have you on the floor laughing. Through his kindness, compassion, love, and stealthy sense of humor, Tom brought his family more joy than words can express. “Until we meet again…”
