William “Bill” Cuffney, age 73, died peacefully at Mercy House in Endicott NY on May 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Ellen Cuffney, and his sister, Mary Talbo (Tom). He is survived by his siblings, Jim Cuffney (Carol), Bob Cuffney (Judi), and Joan Dinnel (Tom), along with 10 nieces and nephews and 12 great-nieces and great-nephews. To his family, Bill was affectionately known as “Uncle Bubba.”
Bill attended Vestal Central Schools and graduated in 1972. He worked many jobs over his lifetime including long stints at Endicott Johnson Shoes and Willow Point Nursing Home. Raised in the Catholic faith, Bill was an avid coin collector, a proud member of the Masonic Temple of Endicott and a devoted New York Giants fan.
Bill will be remembered as a beloved brother with a kind and trusting soul. He had a great memory that could recount details of an event many years later! Bill was a man of few words whose quiet presence meant so much to those who knew him.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Mercy House for the exceptional care, compassion, and love shown to Bill. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Bill’s memory may be made to Mercy House of Endicott NY, a true “diamond in the rough” in our community, that provided dignity and comfort during a very delicate time.
Funeral Services for Bill will be held on Saturday, May 30th at 11 am at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal. The family will receive friends on Saturday the 30th at the Allen Memorial Home from 9 am until Service time at 11 am.
