William Muniak passed away unexpectedly May 19, 2026 at the age of 73 years. Born in North Tonawanda, New York in 1952 he was the first of four children of Stanley and Esther Muniak. Bill graduated from Vestal High School and later earned a B.S (chemistry) and M.S. (computer science) from Binghamton University. He worked for many years at General Electric and BAE on their computer systems.
Bill was a devoted husband, brother and friend. Bill married the love of his life JoAnne Muniak in 1978. Their time together was characterized by mutual respect and included many adventures. Bill was a dog lover with a particular affinity for collies.
Bill was a talented handyman and was always willing to lend a hand to his friends and family. He enjoyed working on cars in his younger days and also played golf and shot trap with his brothers. He loved driving around in his Original 65 Buick Riviera. The time he spent with his brothers meant the world to him
Bill is survived by his wife JoAnne and his brothers Dr. Charles Muniak (Judi) of Syracuse, John Muniak of Syracuse and Tom Muniak (Terry) of Williamsburg, Virginia. Bill also leaves two special nieces: Dr. Jennifer Muniak (Dan Williams) and Elizabeth Hurley (Greg), as well as many cousins and special friends.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12 pm on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main St., Endicott, NY. A funeral service will follow immediately at 12 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the Broome County Humane Society.
