Our beloved sister, Yolanda Cost DeSilva, 89, of Binghamton, NY passed away on July 13, 2025. Yolanda was born on July 4, 1936 in Forest City, Pennsylvania. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, sister, aunt and friend who was known for her unwavering kindness, unexpected and mischievous humor and overflowing generosity. Londie brought joy and laughter to everyone she knew. She was special because she saw the beauty in everyone. It didn’t matter where they came from, how much money they had, the color of their skin or their religious beliefs Londie found a way to connect to and laugh with every person she met. She had enormous amounts of empathy and wanted everyone she met to feel loved and included. Her greatest pleasure was to gather people for parties, picnics and dinners. Every special moment was a cause for celebration. She loved cooking and was renowned for her chicken parmesan. She took great pride in her beautiful flower gardens and in decorating her home for the holidays. Londie loved traveling from local day trips to far away fun adventures like Alaska, Italy, Las Vegas and England. Yolanda worked at the stock exchanges in Binghamton for over 40 years as the names changed from Bonbright, to EF Hutton, and to Shearson Lehman Brothers and ultimately became office manager and earned the title assistant vice president. She loved her job and the people she worked with. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Ronald DeSilva, her parents, Nicholas and Mildred Cost, her sister Elaine, her brother-in-law John Cucura and her nephews David (Chipper) and Kevin Ohmnacht. She is survived by sisters Patricia (Russell) Dilley, Andrea Cucura, her brother Nicholas Cost along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
