Angelina Smith (Lily Loiodice), 89, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at her home in Endicott.She was born on May 4, 1923 to the late Bartolomeo andJosephine Loiodice.She was predeceased by her husband Richard and a brother John Loiodice, as well as a brother- in law Peter Vitale.She is survived by a Sister Nicolletta (Clare) Vitale of Endicott NY; A sister and brother- in-law Rosie and Al Dargenzio of Burbank, CA.; and a brother and sister- in-law Joesph and Hilda, Glen Head, NY.Also several nieces and nephews.One special nephew, Robert Loiodice who was her Guardian and caregiver.She was a graduate of BCC.She worked as an executive secretary at GE until she retired in 1986.She was an active and athletic person.She was a runner and skier.She won numerous medals and trophy’s in both sports. As a senior Angie competed in the Senior Olympics and the Empire State Games for Skiing.In 1984 She finished 3rd in Nationals in Aspen, CO.Two years later 5th in Keystone, CO.Angie skied all over the world.She loved skiing in Switzerland and told the story of Heli-Skiing on top of the Swiss Alps as “skiing in heaven”.She was a frequent skier at Greek Peek where she owned a condo. At her cottage on Owasco Lake in the summer she loved boating and water skiing.And made many happy memories with family and friends there. She was a lifelongmember of Northminster Presbyterian Church of Endwell.Special thank you to her caregivers, Michelle Killean, Gladys Rice, Joanne Blunt and Ann Pierce.Funeral Services will be held Friday 1 pm from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-51 East Main Street, Endicott, with the Reverend Lisa Heckman, Pastor of Northminster Presbyterian Church, Endwell officiating. Entombment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Friday from 11 am until service time at 1 pm. Expressions of Sympathy maybe made to the American Veterans of War. In honor of her husband Richard Smith a POW.
