Ann Green Burnell, 97, passed away on November 25, 2015. She was predeceased by parents Stella and Charles Roska, husbands, Francis Michael Green and Truman Burnell, grandson Ryan Burnell, son-in-law George Brown, and her three sisters Helen Maddock, Mary Tomi, and Aurelia (Rae) Redo. She is survived by her daughters Laurette Green Brown of Poughkeepsie, Kathleen Green of Albuquerque, NM, and Susan Green Hall of Endicott, and step-son, Larry Burnell, grandchildren Michael and Maria Morellino of Indian Trail, NC, Danielle Morellino and Marc Casiano, New York, NY, Jeremy Burnell, and Jennifer and Keith Blakenship. great grandchildren Hannah, Raquel, Veronica, Andrea, and Jenna Blankenship all of Albuquerque, Tommy and Raelynn Morellino of Indian Trail, NC, as well as several nieces and nephews. Together with her late husband Francis, owned and operated GREEN’S TAVERN on North St. in Endicott in the 50’s and 60’s. She later managed S & H Green Stamps in the mid 60’s and 70’s, and in her retirement years, was the tax collector for the Maine-Endwell School District. Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be remembered for her generosity, love, and compassion for others, her “quick wit,” strong work ethic, and love for and devotion to her family. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory can be made starting Wednesday to M & T Bank for the benefit of her great grandson, Tommy G. Morellino, pediatric stroke survivor, to offset expenses related to Tommy’s upcoming surgeries at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Donations can be made to “Tommy Morellino Fund” and taken to any M & T Branch or mailed to M & T Bank, 35 Washington Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 3, from 9:15 to 10 am at St. Ambrose Church in Endicott, followed by a Mass at 10 am. Burial will be at Riverhurst Cemetery.
