Anne M. Contento, 91, of Endicott, was reunited in Heaven with her loving husband, Frank A. Contento, on August 10, 2016. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary Longo; her brothers, Jack (Mary), and Vito, her brothers-in-law, Martin (Louise) Contento, Daniel (Gloria) Contento, Sam (Louise) Contento, Joseph Fontana and Roy Andrus; her sisters-in-law, Elwyn (Peter) Salamida and Mary (James) Murtari. She is survived by three daughters who adored her, Marilyn Burns, Denise Contento (Joe Fahey) and Kathleen Contento (Doug Lubushkin); her grandchildren, Brian and Jamie Burns; her sole remaining sibling, Margaret Fontana; her sister-in-law, Kathryn (Katy) Andrus; and many nieces and nephews. Anne liked nothing better than to spend time with her family. She loved to make biscotti and pizzelles and give them to friends and family. Anne was a life long member of St. Anthony of Padua Parrish and for many years she volunteered at Friday night fish dinners, at funeral luncheons, and making and selling pepper cookies for the Feast Days. She enjoyed playing golf with her girlfriends, having picked it up late in life, and following the New York Yankees, particularly with Frank while he was still alive. Her grandchildren brought her endless joy and she enthusiastically celebrated their every accomplishment. Anne worked at IBM in the Suggestion Department for many years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 12:00 noon at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 306 Odell Ave., Endicott, NY. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, NY on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Anne’s memory may be made to Mercy House, 212 North McKinley Ave., Endicott, NY or to Saint Francis Ministry, c/o Sr. Anisia Muthoni, St. Anthony of Padua Church. She died as she lived – everyone’s friend.
