Barbara Bennett Work of Endicott went to be with her Lord on Monday, April 26, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband, William S. Work. She is survived by her four children: Stephen B. Hancock, Jackson Hole, WY; Ellen K. Hancock-Berti and son-In-law, David J. Berti, Binghamton, NY; William S. Work, Endicott, NY, and Robert A. Work and Cara E. Wilder, Bozeman, MT. She is survived by eight grandsons – Andrew D. Berti and his wife Amber G. Pollack-Berti Peter B. Hancock, his wife, Dru W. Hancock and great granddaughter, Emery E. Hancock; Christopher M. Hancock; Nathan W.G. Berti and Rebekah M. Bocek; Jackson W. Work, Ethan L. Work; Charles W. Work and Simon S. Work. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law Kristen B. Charron, a sister, Claire Buckley and a brother-in-law, Steward Purdy and his wife, Miriam. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews and. many, many friends including a special friend, Robert Nash. Barbara was a member of the Junior League of Binghamton, a former deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Endicott, a member of the General Hospital “Twigs” and was a founding member of the board of the Community Foundation for South Central New York. Barbara will be remembered for her gardens, her love of watching “Jeopardy”, and her cookies. Most of all, she will be remembered for her caring, loving and thoughtful spirit.Funeral Services will be held Thursday 11 am from First Presbyterian Church, Endicott, with the Reverend Janice Devine, Pastor of her church officiating. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
