Benjamin Reese

Benjamin William Reese, age 73, of Endwell, New York,, passed away peacefully at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City on September 23, 2016, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Winifred Reese. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marie (Driscoll); his sisters Gwendolyn Reese of Endicott, N.Y., Melody (Pat) Bernardo of Vestal, New York, brother Wayne (Judy) Reese of Endicott, N.Y., and niece Hillary (Jay) Lang, and great niece and nephew (twins) Evelyn Reese and Walter Benjamin Lang, all from Syracuse, N.Y. Ben was a loving and devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He graduated from Union-Endicott High School. He was a retiree of the New York State Department of Transportation with 36 years of service. Ben loved watching and participating in sports, especially water and snow skiing, loved golf, and had a great appreciation for fast cars. He looked forward to his annual winter vacation to his home in Florida, where he was in the men’s golf league at the Monterey Yacht and Country Club in Stuart, Florida. Ben especially enjoyed golfing at the family business, Ford Hill Country Club in Whitney Point. The family would like to thank the staff at Wilson Memorial Hospital, North Towers 3 and 4, for the excellent care that Ben received while he was there. Also, a special thanks to his health care aides that cared for him over the past several months.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with Reverend David C. Seaver officiating. Entombment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Tuesday from 4-8 pm and Wednesday from 10:30 am until service time at 11 am. The family requests that donations can be made in Ben’s memory to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
