Carol R. Brown, 91, went to be with the Lord Friday, January 9, 2015. She was predeceased by a son, Gary A. Brown; her parents, Daniel and Caroline (Kirch) Murphy; a brother, Robert D. Murphy. She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, George W. (Bud) Brown, Jr.; one daughter and son in law, Susan and Scott Gushlaw; one step granddaughter, Sydney Gushlaw; many in laws and friends. Carol worked at the Army Depot, Link Aviation, Pentagon for Lieutenant General Harmon and with Charles Lindburg on the site committee to locate the Air Force Academy. She also worked for IBM and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Carol was also a member of the Vestal American Legion Auxiliary. Carol’s family would like to thank all of the people at Willow Point Nursing Home who did so much to make her stay as enjoyable as possible. We would also like to thank her physician Dr. Kennedy and Nurse Practitioner Kathryn Ericksen.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with the Reverend John Martinichio, Rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott, NY. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Tuesday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Carol’s memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 155 Washington Avenue, Suite 210, Albany, NY 12210.
