Catherine F. Hundiak, 79, of Vestal, NY, peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Friday, December 27, 2013. Catherine was predeceased by her parents Thomas E. and Nora H. Golden, and her brothers James F. Golden and Lawrence M. Golden. Catherine is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Stephen Hundiak; and their children, Catherine A. (Larry) Koppl of Bedford, NY, Elizabeth M. (Larry) Brocious of Apalachin, NY, Stephen G. (Dabeiba) Hundiak of Richmond Hills, NY, Maria L. (Mark) Gural of Lopatcong, NJ and Patricia H. (Alan) Scott of Basking Ridge, NJ; and thier treasured grandchildren, Patricia and Gabrielle Brocious, Natalie Hundiak, Victoria, Catherine, Mark-Luke and Stephen Gural and Colin and Cameron Scott. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary (Donald) Fairchild of Trumansburg, NY, Noreen Purtell of Little Meadows, PA, Margaret (Timothy) Reardon of Endicott, NY, brothers Thomas Golden of Middletown, PA, Leo Golden of St. Joseph, PA and sister in-law Carm Golden of Endicott, NY and many much loved nieces, nephews and cousins. Catherine was an active member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church and could be counted on to coordinate and lead new initiatives to do our Lord’s work here on Earth. She was devoted to her family and loved the sounds of family around her. She was a blessing to those who knew her.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at the newly dedicated Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 801 Main Street, Vestal, at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Friendsville, PA at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at Allen Memorial Home, Monday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Cathy’s memory to the food pantry at Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
