Chester “Chet” Kupiec

Chester G. Kupiec, age 75, passed away on May 1, 2017 after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Mildred Kupiec, his beloved wife, Paula (Tymeson), his siblings, Kathryn (Kupiec) Klink and Robert Kupiec. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Chet and Jackie Kupiec of Endwell, NY, Stan and Paula Kupiec of Vestal, NY, and John and Lori Kupiec of Union Springs, NY, and his daughter, Mary Kupiec of Whitney Point, NY, and his grandchildren, Taylor, Megan, Sarah, Ashley, Kelly, Emma, Jacob, Joseph, Paige, Olivia, Grace, and Anna. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Elaine Kupiec of Clifton Park, NY, Ken and Heather Kupiec of North Monmouth, ME, David Klink of Toms River, NJ, William and Dale Tymeson of Wynantskill, NY, and Michael and Geri Tymeson of Clifton Park, NY, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends Rita, Jenna, and Austin, any many other close friends. Chet grew up farming with his family in Schaghticoke, NY before relocating to Endicott, NY to begin his career with IBM. He served his country in the US Army as a Military Policeman, decorated as an Expert Rifleman and Marksman. After serving, he continued to work for IBM until his retirement in 1992. Chet was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and loyal friend to many. He was known for his love of life, strength, unwavering optimism, steadfast spirit, and willingness to help others. He loved sharing excellent food, aged scotch, Cuban cigars, and loud polka music with his family and friends. Chet was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of the Church of the Holy Family in Endwell, NY.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis St, Endwell, NY Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10 am. Burial will be at Riverhurst Cemetery in Endwell, NY, at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy in his memory can be made to Mercy House, 212 North McKinley Avenue, Endicott NY 13760.
