Clifton Williams

Clifton H. Williams, age 87, of Johnson City passed away at his home on October 2, 2017. He was born in Cortdale, PA, to Melvin and Elizabeth Williams. He was predeceased by two brothers, Melvin and Kenneth. He retired from IBM in Owego. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Shirley; three children; Clifton Williams and Melissa, David Williams and Suzan, and Nancy Ducanis and Jack; his grandchildren; Jeffrey and Anna Williams, Joshua and Kara Williams, Kristin Ducanis, and Courtney Ducanis; great grandchildren Harrison Williams, Gabriel Williams, and Aria Williams; one brother, Robert and Linda Williams and many nieces and nephews. He graduated from Vestal High School in 1947 where he was active in sports and band. Clifton loved all sports and especially enjoyed his grandchildren’s participation. He was a charter member of the Park Terrace Community United Methodist Church, was first trustee of land purchased for future church and held many positions during the years. He was also a member of the choir for many years.
Funeral and Interment services will be held Friday at 11 am at Park Terrace Community United Methodist Church, 30 Glann Road, Apalachin. Interment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at church Friday from 10 am until service time at 11 am. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Park Terrace Community United Methodist Church.
