Darlene was my cousin. She was an exceptional person. She was there for my family in Raleigh when we were grieving for lost family members and I will not forget her kindness. I'm glad I got to know her a little better and see how sweet she was. My condolences to all the Warfields and anyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Darlene made the ABA a special place for the examiners through her amazing ability to touch each of us personally. She knew us all by name, remembered details about our families and workplaces, and was the kind yet firm guiding hand keeping us on time. Always keeping us on time. I missed her greatly when she retired, but was happy that she was with her family. Deepest sympathy on the passing of a friend who made us tow the mark through her kindness.

In July of 1959 a mob of neighborhood kids, my 8 cousins ,brother Ricky and sister Kathy as well as kids from my old street in Binghamton all posed together in my front yard on Boswell hill. It was my 6th birthday party. It’s a black and white photo and I’ve had it in a frame all these years. Darlene is in it as one of the taller kids. I was sad to hear of her illness and passing. My condolences for your loss.

For decades, the ABA Oral exam was like a traveling symphony. For most of that time, Darlene was its conductor. The Directors and Examiners were the musicians. The candidates were the audience, replete with critics. The hotels were the concert halls, and their staff was the maintenance crew. Other ABA staff members were the ticket-takers, ushers, and stage crew. Maestro Darlene cheerfully integrated these diverse elements into a magnificent whole. Every. Single. Time. She was immensely appreciated and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

I have missed Darlene since she left the ABA. She was a joy to spend time with and a highly competent facilitator of the exams, both for the examiners and candidates. Her loss is greatly felt by many.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
