Douglas M. Barton, 78, of Vestal, NY passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 at UHS Wilson Hospital with his family at his side.He was predeceased by his parents Marlin & Vesta Barton of Endwell.Survived by his wife Gonia and four sons; Christopher and wife Ellana Barton of Vestal, Mark and wife Christine Barton of Colchester, VT, Andrew Barton of Endwell, Thomas and wife Malin Barton of Clayton, NC.Three granddaughters; Katherine, Vanessa, and Hannah.Two step grandchildren; Edward and Inessa Raytenberg.Sister; Barbara and husband Gary Ransom of Apex, NC and their children.Brother and sister in laws; Pat Hotalen, Ken and Janice Cowan, Rick and Mary Cowan, Debbie Cowan. Douglas was a Veteran of the US Army for 2 years, retired from IBM Endicott in 1992 with 35 years of service, Senior member of the Guide Step Sportsman’s Club in Richford, NY since 1964, Volunteer of Meals On Wheels for over 10 years.

Funeral Services will be heldThursday 1 pm from the Allen Memorial Home,511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with Deacon Dale Crotsley of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vestal, officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Thursday form 11 am until service timeat 1 pm.
