Edward J. Bock, 85, of Vestal, passed away peacefully Friday, September 7, 2012 after a long and full life. He was born in Endicott, NY, October 27, 1926. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Anna Bock, brother George and brother-in-law Henry Chervenka.He is survived by his wife of 64 years Dolores Bock, his 5 loving children: Dennis Bock (Susan), Brenda Nealy (Rick), Georgianna Borgna (Mark), Linda Rosso (Steve), Donna Buchholz (Andy), and hisbrother Steve Bock (Monya), hissister Marge Chervenka and his sister-in-law Dorothy Bock. He is also survived by 8 grandsons, 1 granddaughter,4 great-granddaughters andmany nieces and nephews. Edward was aUS Army veteran and an avid outdoorsman, hunting, fishing, hiking or camping the year around.Most of his working life was with the U.S.Postal Service as a letter carrier, so he spent most of histime enjoyingthe out-of-doors he so loved.He had a deep devotion to his faith and studied God’s Word diligently. He was a true servant of God,and was a Deacon at his church for over 30 years. He was truly a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.We were blessed to have him. All who knew Ed can testify to what a good sense of humor he had,what a hard worker he was, and what agood man he was. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family wishes to thank the 4th floorrehabilitationunit at the Susquehanna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the staff at Lourdes Hospital for their compassionate care of Ed.Graveside Services will be held Monday 12 pm at Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Ed’s memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 91 Owego Street, Cortland, NY 13045
