Eleanor Andrews WardellOctober 24, 1913 – September 12, 2012Eleanor Andrews Wardell, of Mauldin, SC, formerly of Vestal, NY, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 with her daughter and grandson by her side. She was 98 years old. Eleanor was the daughter of the late Charles and Alma Andrews. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Howard Shenton of Mauldin, SC; son-in-law, James R. Ormiston and his wife, Sonia; grandsons: Richard C. and Maryann (wife) Ormiston, Randall G. Ormiston, William J. and Julie (wife) Ormiston, Jason S. Shenton and Steven A. Ormiston; great-grandchildren: Alexander, Ava, Thomas, Vincent, Julia, William, Wesley, Haley and Anne; nephews: Harold Roth, Warren Stevens and Walter Stevens. Besides her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Charles Wardell; her daughter, Shirley A. Ormiston; her grandson, Joshua Shenton; her sister, Gladys Roth. Before she moved to South Carolina, Eleanor was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Endicott; a member and past matron of Eastern Star Round Hill Chapter #104; a member of the Daughters of the Nile Zukeika Temple #9; a member of the Vestal Senior Citizens; a member of the Jenny F. Snap Seniors; a graduate of Union-Endicott High School and Lowell’s Business School. We consider ourselves lucky to have had Eleanor with us for 98 years. She was a wonderful mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed.Funeral Services will be held Monday 11 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with the Reverend Sue Davis, Pastor of her church officiating. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Sunday from 2-5 pm.
