Freida S. Burkle, 84 of Endwell, born November 15, 1930, reunited with her beloved husband of 60 years, Leonard and her mother Erma on Friday, July 4, 2014. She was born in Watertown, NY, the second oldest of the late Wallace and Erma Hauck, of New York Mills, NY. She leaves behind her son David Burkle; two daughters Heidi (Frank) Plonsinski and Donna (Gary) Yesenesky, all of Endwell; four grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was a member of Church of the Holy Family, Endwell and was a retired employee of Garden Village Retirement Community. Freida kept very busy working around her home, which she took much pride in. Some of her enjoyments in life were baking cookies and other “goodies” for her family and an occasional trip to the local casino. She will be known not only for her love of her family, but also her strong work ethic, working right up until cancer took her from her beloved family. Special thanks to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and Lourdes Hospice Program, especially her nurse Beverly and aide Mary, for all their care and compassion.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 10 am from Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at church Wednesday from 9 am until Mass time at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Lourdes Hospice Program, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
