Irene Kushner-Fiacco, 80, of Endicott, fell asleep with the Lord, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Saturday, May 8, 2010. She was predeceased by her parents Stephen and Mary Kushner; a sister and brother in law Ann and Mario Palombo and a brother Stephen, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband Anthony; sister Mary K. Lane; stepchildren; John (Tracey) Fiacco; Richard (Linda) Fiacco; Robert (Kathy) Fiacco; Lisa (Mike) Klodowski; Christine (Scott) Pionteck and Andrea (Bill) Fiacco. She is also survived by special nieces and nephews Jim Palombo; Joan (Ray) Golden; Bob (Shelly) Lane and Maribeth (Warren) Wickersheim; nine step grandchildren; eight great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew, and will be especially missed by her dear friends; Gene and Phyllis Ash; Bob and Rita Kushner and Ed and Helen Pasternak. Irene had a deep love of her faith and devotion to her church, Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Endicott, where she was a faithful member, and served for many years on the original Board of Directors of the Holy Myrrbearers Orthodox Nuns Monastery in Otego, NY. She was a retired IBM Corp. employee, a member of its Quarter Century Club and past board member of the IBM Country Club. Over the years Irene enjoyed bowling and golfing and the many friends she made, through those sports and enjoyed family get togethers, vacationing, traveling and long drives viewing the countryside. Funeral Services will be held Thursday 2 pm at Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Endicott. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The family will receive friends at church Wednesday from 3-6 pm and Thursday from 1 pm until service time at 2 pm. Expressions of sympathy in he memory may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church Renovation Fund, 210 Hill Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760 or to the charity of one’s choice.
