He also leaves behind niece and nephew, Sherrie Traver (Doug) of Norwood, NC, Todd Jacobs (Holly), Willet, NY, and many grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins. Jim worked for the Town of Vestal Highway Department for 5 years, and NYS DOT for 31 years. He retired as a Bridge Repair Supervisor in 2001. He was a selfless and caring individual, known for his dry wit. He enjoyed time in nature, and trips to national monuments and historic places. His favorite trip was a road trip to Alaska with his family to visit Kenny and Pat. He also enjoyed watching his beloved NY Giants, Yankees, and NASCAR races. The family would like to extend a special thank you to UVES and the staff at Lourdes Hospital for all of their assistance and sympathy during this difficult time.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 at 11 am at the Vestal Park Cemetery, Main St., Vestal, NY. The family will host a celebration of his life, to be announced at a later date.
