John Sulich, PhD, 88, of Johnson City, died at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Wednesday, July 4, 2012. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth; grandson Matthew Juser and parents John and Helen. He is survived by two daughters and sons in law Karen and Robert Juser, Maine, NY and Barbara and Donald Wright, Endwell; grandchildren Paul (Anna Kovach) Juser and Esther Davis; three sisters and brother in law Helen Rusnak, Endicott; Anne Raser, Los Angeles, CA and Mary and John Haitt, Winston Salem, NC; a brother and sister in law Michael and Shirley Sulich, Endicott; also several nieces; nephews and cousins. He was a former member of St. Mary Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, Endicott and ACRC Club. John was a retired IBM Corp employee and a member of its Quarter Century Club.He received his Bachelors and PhD degrees from Cornell University and Masters at SUNY Binghamton. Some of John’s memberships included Johnson City School Board, American Chemical Society and Cornell Alumni. A special thank you to Dr. Steven Melkin (aka “Dr. No”) and staff for the compassionate and patient care you gave him. You are the one person he never got one on. Funeral and Interment Services will be held Friday 6pm from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with the Reverend father Michael Kleban officiating. Entombment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Friday from 4 pm until service time at 6 pm. The family requests no flowers, due to family allergies, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Matthew Juser Scholarship Fund, c/o 1 McNamara #2, Binghamton, NY 13903 or SPEAK. In honor of John, feed the birds, plant a tree and love nature.
