John J. Zielinski, 84, of Endwell, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 24, 2016. He was pre deceased by a daughter Nancy, and a sister Magdalene Wascalus. He is survived by his wife Alberta, a son and daughter in law John P. (Zoe Ann) Zielinski; three daughter and sons in laws Teresa (Carmen) Mortise; Kathy (Dave) Reist and JoAnne (Carl) Cichetti; seven grandchildren Meghann Boyd; Caroline Reist; Joe Reist; John Tyler Shea; Jamie Zielinski; Zachary Zielinski and Michael Cichetti; two great grandchildren Victoria and Grace Boyd. John was a graduate of Penn State University and a veteran of the US Air Force. He was a former employee of General Electric, Johnson City, IBM Glendale and member of it’s Quarter Century Club. He also was a volunteer fireman at O.L. Davis Endwell and was a member of St. Joseph’s Church Endicott. John loved to play softball, volleyball, go bowling, and Polka listening to Bill Flynn. The family would like to thank John’s caretakers Fay; Ty and Pat.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday 10 am from St. Joseph’s Church, 207 Hayes Avenue, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at church Saturday from 9 am until Mass time at 10 am. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association Central New York, 441 West Kirkpatrick, Street Syracuse, NY 13204.
