Our beloved Joe, 26, of Johnson City, passed away unexpectedly on February 17, 2019. Joe is survived by his parents, Jim and Gigi Parrillo of Johnson City and his two sisters, Jamie Lynn, Elizabeth (DeGardo Newborn). He is also survived by his special nephew and niece, Jaiden Lateer and Llana Newborn, who adored their Uncle. Joe is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Joe graduated from Johnson City High School, class of 2010 and Broome Community College. Joe was an empathic human being who loved his family and friends. He was passionate about his work and the people he worked with. He had a warm generous heart and smile. Everyone who knew him loved him. Joe enjoyed adventures; he loved to go to baseball games and take trips out of town. Joe’s organs have been donated and now bless the lives of other families. We would like to thank the ICU staff at Wilson Hospital for their terrific support.

Joe, I wish I could have been there for your final goodbye but I know with your work ethic that you'd understand. You were such a sweet caring, honest young man who would do anything for anyone. From my first day as cook at JGJ you welcomed me and started calling me mom, which was an honor. You made me smile every shift and even would go above and beyond to help with things that weren't even your responsibility. I'm struggling with accepting that you're not here to brighten peoples lives with your smile or infectious laugh. Gone to soon. My sincere condolences to the Parrillo family, cherish all the good memories and he'll always be with you.

My sincere condolences to Joe's Family and Friends, Any person who is willing to be an organ donor is very special, indeed. That consideration speaks volumes of what a kind, loving and thoughtful person Joe was, to give to others a part of oneself so that they may live is a blessed treasure. Bless You All

I am so sorry for your loss. I was Joe’s 8th grade science teacher and I often think about him with fond memories. He was a great kid with incredible character, even as a middle schooler. I enjoyed talking to him about the Red Sox and I still have on my desk a commemorative Red Sox ball that he gave me.
