Carol ( Glover) Demtrak/Moore left a message on March 4, 2022:
To the Thornton, Jennings and Randall families. I am so very sad to read of Uncle Joe’s passing. I remember him fondly when I would see him at Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Warren’s house on Alida Ave in Hillcrest. Thorney( Lynda) and I were just 9 years old when she came to live at Aunt Jeanne’s and Uncle Warren’s house. I met the whole Thornton and Jennings families and felt blessed to have them in my life. Although I had not seen Uncle Joe in many years, Thorney kept me up to date on Al the family. Please accept my condolences and my deep feelings of love for all of you. God Bless Incle Joe!! Carol

We are so sorry to hear of Mr. Thorntons passing! He was always such a kind and pleasant man with a positive attitude! We enjoyed exchanging hello’s when he sat on his front porch in good weather! Bob said they had shared some good conversations! One time many years ago, cars were rummaged through in our neighborhood. I left a folder in my car which held a checkbook for the elementary PTA. Mr. Thornton found it in the shrubs in front of his house and walked it down to me! It was soaking wet but I was greatly relieved! May he have a happy heavenly reunion with his family and fellow neighbors! Our Deepest sympathies and condolences, Cathy and Bob Parke Neighbors @ #30
