Joseph P. Yurko, 88, of Endicott, went to be with the Lord peacefully at Ideal Living on March 31,2022.
He is predeceased 1/28/2022 by his wife, Anna Regina Yurko, to whom he was married for 67 years, his mother Margaret Yurko and his aunt Julia Yurko.
He will be deeply missed by his children; Dr. Joe (Mary Anne), Jeff (Monica), Jerry (Jane), Jane Wagner, Judy Malenda (George), and Julianna Klein. Also survived by her wonderful and loving grandchildren; Matt (Laura), Peter (Nancy), Katie Icenhower (Ben), Tessa, Kristina, Danielle Wagner-Pieretti (Julien), Christine Kearse (Chris), Brittany Banks (Jake), Dr. Alyssa Bennett (Andrey), Amanda Klein (Ben) and Andrew Klein, 11 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Lorraine Miller and several nieces and nephews.
Joe was born on March 15,1934 in Allentown, Pa. where he grew up and would later marry his high school sweetheart, Anna Regina Miller, on July 3,1954. Joe and Reggie moved to Riverside, CA to serve 2 years in the United States Air Force. Their family grew by three boys. They traveled across country back to Allentown, PA where two girls were added to the family. Joe achieved a degree in drafting during that time.
Binghamton, NY was next and a job with IBM. One more daughter was born during their move to Endicott in 1964
He was a parishioner of St. Ambrose Church in Endicott. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and served as Business Administrator after retiring with 30 years with IBM.
Joe and Reggie raised her 6 children with much love and devotion Joe enjoyed family camping trips, sports and fellowship with friends. He had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to thank Ideal Living for caring for Joe and Anna Regina.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Charities or American Diabetes Association.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at St. Ambrose Church. Visitation will be 9 am to 10 am at the church followed by Mass of Christian Burial.
