Mary Lou Hagen (Pank), 89, of Vestal, passed away peacefully at The Cornerstone Hospice House in The Villages, Florida on Saturday, May 13, 2017. She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband of 63 years Walter Hagen, recently by her son David Hagen, and her brother H. Robert Pank. She is survived by one daughter Barbara Hagen , Endwell, two sons and their wives John and Abbie Pank, Portland, Oregon, and Michael and Maureen Hagen, The Villages, Florida, also daughters-in-law Christine Hagen, Dunnellon, Florida, and Trady Hagen, Endicott, grandchildren Karyn King (Michael), Matthew Hagen, Sean Pank and great-grandchildren Taylor and Morgan King. She is also survived by her sister Sr. Jane Pank HM and brother Richard Pank. Mary Lou was a proud devoted volunteer to “Mom’s House” caring for young babies while their mothers were taking classes to further their education, receiving the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2006. She was also an active participant in Our Lady of Sorrows Church “Knots” program, creating quilted sleeping bags for the homeless. Anyone who knew Mary Lou loved her. She loved life and had a very humorous outlook and a contagious laugh. She was the matriarch of the family, caring about everyone she knew. She had a strong faith that defined her entire life.
The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott Friday from 5-7 pm. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 10 am. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal.
