Patricia Roddy O’Keeffe of Brackney, PA, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 24, 2016, at her home. She was 78. She was born in Schenectady, NY, and was the daughter of the late Vincent and Gertrude Roddy. She received her bachelor of science degree from Trinity College in Washington, DC and continued her advanced studies at George Washington University. In her earlier years she worked as a biochemist for the NIH. Most recently she worked for the state of NY as a disability analyst until her retirement in 2003. Patricia’s adventurous love of life was demonstrated by her many hobbies which included being a private pilot, an autocrosser, an amateur radio operator, and an avid tennis player. She will be remembered as a loving friend by those who knew her. She was an active member of St. Margaret Mary’s Church in Apalachin, NY, where she served as a lector and sacristan and volunteered in many unsung ways. She was also a leader in Birthright of Owego. She was the loving wife to John for 49 years. She is also survived by her sons, James and his wife, Amy, of Langhorne, PA, and Robert and his wife, Annette, of Syracuse, NY; her granddaughters, Makayla and Natalie; three sisters, Florence DiMisa and her husband, Francis, of Silver Spring, MD, Brenda D’onofrio and her husband, Bernard, of Millis, MA, and Beatrice Appold and her husband, Raymond, of Port St. Lucie, FL; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday 10 am at St. Margaret Mary’s Church, 1110 Pennsylvania Avenue, Apalachin. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening from 4 to 7 pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott.
