Paulette Crane Reel, 57, passed away peacefully in the company of her family in the early morning of November 8, 2013. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward Paul Crane (’82) and Anastasia “Tess” Seversky Crane (’95). She is survived by her loving husband, of 32 years, George Frederick Reel (Endicott); brother, Edward (Judy) Crane (Atlanta); and children, Steven Frederick, Matthew Paul, (Krista Marie), Daniel George, and Mark Edward, whom all currently reside in Los Angeles, CA. A lifelong resident of Endicott, Paulette graduated from Seton Catholic High School and Central City Business Institute in Syracuse, NY. Paulette’s career resume includes positions at IBM, The Night Shift, Core Management and Lockheed Martin. An integral part of any organization, her coworkers attest to her infectious smile, positive attitude, and unique ability to improve her environment and even make work fun. Closest friends describe her as genuine, kind, caring and funny with a truly magnetic personality. She touched many lives and always put others ahead of herself. Her selfless consideration was evident even in her final days. Her greatest gifts were shared with her family. A loving wife and mother, Paulette transformed a house into a home which was enjoyed by all who crossed its threshold. Sympathetic and tough, she took pride in her family and ensured her children were raised with humility, sensitivity and courage. A courage which was evident in her, as she valiantly battled cancer for the last seven years. Facing significant medical challenges since November of 2012 she defied all odds and by attending her son’s marriage in California this last August. While baking prowess eluded her, she will be remembered as an excellent cook who prepared unparalleled Thanksgiving dinners. Her table was always full and those who gathered at it never went home hungry. She will always be remembered as the life of the party and an expert at planning an event.

I had the fortunate opportunity to grow up in the Reel household along with her four sons. The Reel house was never quiet while growing up. Mrs. Reel kept the door to the family home open at all times and although she only had four sons, at many times during our childhood it seemed as if she had an entire village in the house. Everyone who entered the Reel house felt welcomed and loved, and that was due to Mrs. Reel. The greatest compliment that I can pay Mrs. Reel is that she and her husband successfully raised four amazing sons and all of their friends who called the Reel house their second home while growing up. As I raise my two sons, I will share with them many of the fond memories of my childhood that in some way or another involve Mrs. Reel and her wonderful family. Paulette Reel and the entire Reel family, thank you. You will always be in the thoughts and prayers of the Frischkorn Family. Love always and forever, Donnie, Becky, Brady, and Bryce Frischkorn
