Penny Sadler, 54, of Vestal, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, September 14, 2013. She is survived by her son Adam; mother and step father Jean Edwards-Cusson and Henry Cusson; two brothers and a sister in law Tim and Hiromi Edwards and Jay Edwards; her fiancé David Bidwell; his three children David, Jr.; Michael and Courtney and four grandchildren; also several nieces; nephews; cousins; aunts; uncles and many friends, including two dear friends Renee Richards and Susan Mullar. She was a veteran of the US Army, owned and operated Penny’s Pet Pourri, Binghamton and was a member of the Maj. Ray H. Humphrey, DSC, VFW Post 1449, Endicott.
Funeral and Interment Services will be held Thursday 1:30 pm from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with Reverend Mark Marino, Pastor of Central United Methodist Church, Endicott officiating. Entombment will be in vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Wednesday from 2-4 and evening 7-9 pm. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 59 Court Street, Binghamton, NY 13901, or the Humane Society, 2 Jackson Street, Binghamton, NY 13903 or SPEAK, 351 Flint Road, Binghamton, NY 13905.

hi penny if you ever get to read this in heaven you were a great boss to my mom and we will always miss you

Our hearts ache for the loss of such a wonderful lady. She touched all,of our hearts, dogs and humans alike with her kindness and friendly nature. Penny took such loving care of my pups when they were in to be "buffed and puffed" that they truly looked forward to each and every appointment. When we lost our Lucy pup, Penny sent condolences and a beautiful and thoughtful rememberance plaque. We will all sincerely miss her so very much.

Penny was a wonderful business owner, a caring person for all humans and pets! She loved our dog Killian. She often donated a basket for benefits that I was coordinating. She will be missed! The Esworthy's and Killian!

I never met Penny, but I know that she must have been someone wonderful since she has such a wonderful son. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

When I got flooded in 2006 Penny offered to groom my dogs for free,she told me the dogs shouldn't suffer because I was in a bad situation.This happened again in 2011 when I was flooded again.Very recently I had to call Penny for my dog Caleb and I have been unemployed since May...Penny charged me 1/2 price to take care of him and he is a St. Bernard mix and I am sure took all day.Penny was SO good to my pets and my daughters pets as well.You will be missed Penny!

My thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. I was blessed to have met Penny through Susan Muller and Cheryl Eighmey last year as five of us took a road trip to Hershey PA for the Annual Dog Grooming Show. What a great trip we had. Godspeed Penny, you will be forever missed......................................

I am saddened to hear of Penny's passing...I took my Bichon, Max there for 14 years and more recently my 2 other dogs....Penny was a wonderful person and became a friend always willing to listen or help....she will be greatly missed...thoughts and prayers to her family.

I am so saddened to hear of Penny's passing. I've taken my dogs to her grooming salon for years and she took such good care of them. She was a wonderful person and I will always be grateful to her for being so amazing with my babies. She will be missed.

I have taken my dog TOTI to Penny's for seven years. She was great at what she did. We became friends over the years. My dog felt safe in her salon. TOTI always waged his tale when he saw her. She always gave me good advise when it came to TOTI. I have always talked to her once a week to say hello in the evening before she closed to go rest. Other than taking care of him, Jamie was the only other person who took care of TOTI. They made us feel very very special. I was shocked to hear of her passing. Sad to know in my heart that I will never forget her for the great person she was. I hope someway Penny's Pet Pourri will continue in her memory. There is no other place, her staff was the best at what they did. REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND, YOU WILL BE DEARLY MISSED. LOVE LISA AND TOTI.

We were so saddened to hear of Pennys sudden passing. I had just picked up my labradoodle on Friday at 8pm and the next day she is gone!! Penny has been grooming all my dogs for at least 15 yrs. I could not even say the word Penny in my house and my Nala would go crazy until we got in the car to go there.She would welcome her anytime of the week to come and just hang out and play. She would tell me her and her Niles were best buds. I could call her when she got a hot spot and I would take her right down and she would shave her for me. She was a very special person and will be greatly missed by this community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and all the wonderful staff at Pennys.

I knew Penny only briefly on Saturday where she was so happy and enjoying herself with everyone around her. She was there one moment and gone the next, but so pleasant to be around. She was the type of person you would want to be around at all times, just to have a smile on your face. I met a very amazing person on saturday that has impacted my life for ever and she didn't even know how much. God Bless her and her family through this rough time.

My high school friend. I have not seen you since, but remember your kind heart and gentle demeanor even then. And it seems as a fellow petlover and caretaker, I so wish we had stayed in touch. Love and gentle hugs to your family who I know will have a very tough time without your wonderful spirit.

Penny was an absolutely wonderful person, who we got to know over these past 4 years seeing her every 6 weeks when we would bring Sammy, Freddie, and Tillie to Penny's Pet Pourri. She always smiled when she saw us -- her clients from New York City! Penny will always be near and dear to our hearts -- she is the one who brought to our attention how sick our previous Millie was -- and for that we will always be grateful. Penny was so kind and gentle. We will miss her so. It is tremendously unfair that this had to happen and we are so terribly sad for your loss.

I took our dogs to be groomed at Penny's and she was always so nice and caring and our dogs loved going to see her. I am really stunned and saddened by her sudden passing. My thought and prayers are with her family and friends.

Adam, I remember when your mom would come and visit and you would be so happy. She was such a sweet person, with a kind heart. My favorite memory would be when we all went out to eat at Burgandy's when she was here to visit. My daughter and I will continue to volunteer at the humane society here, but now we will think of her when we do so and in her memory. So sorry for your loss. Penny was our dog groomer for many years till be moved to Raleigh NC. I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing. She was such a wonderful person. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

To know Penny was to love her,as a testament all the kind words said about her so far. People come into our lives for a day, a year or a lifetime, Penny was in my heart for a lifetime. We met some 49 years ago in 1st grade,played together, laughed together all through the early years. We spent all our summers together in High School with the Upward Bound Program. We seperated a bit through the years and would always meet up again at our school reunions. We vowed at our last reunion to keep calling each other this time, and we never did. My heart aches today at such a loss of a dear loved friend. My oldest, longest friend may you rest in peace. Until we meet again, I loved you then and always will. Charlene

It is with great sadness that I received the news of her passing today. I was one of her many clients whose dog got the best that dog grooming had to offer for the last 7 or 8 years. I did not know her that much on a personal level but her professionalism never waivered...and how a person could make such a fashion statement while spending 12 or more hours on her feet grooming dogs...I'll never know. Such class! We should all like to look that good at our best! I enjoyed out short chats each time I picked up my dog and will miss them. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. She was one special lady.

my memory of Penny is how she took care of all my dogs I had groomed by her and her employees.She always told me important things about my dogs health which was very essential for their health. I could always call her and she would return my calls if I needed any information I needed to help my dogs.They always looked so kool in the bandanas and ribbons they came out of the shop.She was a very carring person torward my daughter Shannon who worked for her for many years.I cannot believe this happened to such a good person who everybody loved.Condolences to the Sadler family,God bless you all.

I have taken my dogs to Penny for several years. She always went above and beyond for her clients, even helping me find a wonderful home for our 'Miss Priss' Chloe when we could no longer keep her, (thank you Amy.) Penny always greeted us with a huge smile and would never fail to gush over how wonderfully Cash behaved while he was there. I have a sneaking suspicion she would have said, that even if he had been naughty. She had a special place in her heart for the animals she worked with. Penny, I am so sorry to take your brother away from Endicott, far far away to Japan so that you couldn't spend as much time with him . You always talked about coming to visit us. I am so sorry that you couldn't. If you did, I could show you around and you probably understand why your brother doesn't mind living in this country.
