Rina Irene Vyziak, 89, was born on April 23, 1925, in Eynon, PA, the eldest of five children of Mattie and Marion Sciamanna. She passed away peacefully at Wilson Memorial Hospital on Saturday April 26, 2014. Her strong faith had prepared her for her joyful reunion with her husband of 49 years, Albert. She was also predeceased by her sister, Gloria O’Hara and brother Philip Sciamanna. She is survived by a daughter Sharon Snow, Port Crane; a son Anthony Vyziak, Glen Aubrey; her grandchildren D.J. Snow and Nicole (Russ) Weist, their father, Don Snow, Port Crane; great grandchildren Donald, Cody, Tucker and Rachael Snow; Mitchell, Brockton and Olivia Weist; two sisters Edith Sciamanna and Inez Gigliotti, both of Binghamton; a sister-in-law Gail Sciamanna, Vestal; special nieces and nephews Donna Golkin; Kim Hayden; Lori Bonczek and Michael Sciamanna; and countless other great nieces and nephews. Rina was also richly blessed with the love of many people from near and far including relatives in Eynon, PA and the Senhorini and Seixas families in Brazil. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Matthew Novak, Guthrie Sayre for his dedication and caring ways as well as the staff of Wilson Memorial Hospital 3rd floor North Tower for their compassion, support and helpfulness during Rina’s final days. Rina and her husband Albert owned and operated the Re-Al Motel and she was a respected member of Most Holy Rosary Church, Maine, NY. Rina knew what life was about. No one left her house without a homemade meal, a cherished recipe, a hug, and an “I love you.”
Funeral Services will be held Friday at 9:15am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Most Holy Rosary Church, 36 Main Street, Maine at 10am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home on Thursday from 4-7pm.
