Shirley Schwartz, 88 of Vestal, formerly of Endwell passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley in 1984. She is survived by three sons Joe, Ithaca; Len (Betsy) and Mike (Cindy) Schwartz, all of Vestal; her grandchildren Ted (Taryn); Tom (Taylor); Sam; Dan; Ben; Stephanie and Rebekah. She was a member of Temple Beth El, Endicott and later Temple Concord, Binghamton and was a retired Maine-Endwell elementary school teacher. After her retirement Shirley volunteered her time as a counselor with the American Cancer Society, Lourdes Hospital and the Multiple Sclerosis Association and was an avid gardener, raising her African Violets. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren, who were a great source of joy for her.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 1 pm from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-51 East Main Street, Endicott, with Rabbi Barbara Goldman-Wartell officiating. Burial in will be in Temple Israel Cemetery, Conklin. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Wednesday from 11:30 am until service time at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice. The family will sit Shiva at the residence of Len and Betsy Schwartz, 320 Rayelene Drive, Vestal, Thursday, April 7^th from 2-6 pm and Friday, April 8^th from 1-5 pm.
