Bill Middleton left a message on October 20, 2022:
Dear Anastos Family,I was so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I first met Steve at the old Spartan Deli in Endicott. I was in grocery and paper products sales and did business with Steve and George from the very beginning. I followed Steve in all his business ventures. Spartan Deli,Anastos Foods,Zorba,Broadway, and finally Riverdale, his crowning achievement. I found Steve to be a good business man,he was very fair and a pleasure to do business with, men like him are very hard to find. This man is going to be very hard if not impossible to replace. God Bless the Anastos family and friends.

I was the program director at WKOP/WRSG in the early 80's. I had the pleasure of working with Steve, whose Greek music program aired weekly on Sundays. He was a very nice man and always had a smile on his face. My sincere condolences to Steve's family. To Bessie, Leon, John, Jimmy and all of the family - our deepest sympathies and thoughts at this time - Steve was a great man - dedicated to his family, business and friends. I was blessed to know him since very young boy living across the street on Maryland Ave. then for many years at the diners - I didn't mind shoveling the walk out front or salting at The Broadway early in the morning or helping him put the mats down inside - it was my pleasure. Or taking care of my middle daughter's wedding like they were King and Queen for the day. Thank you for everything and may you rest in piece - you were and remain through your boys - a wonderful person. The Bushnell Family - Todd, Kathie, Katlin, Carrie and Kristine
