Sylvia A. Bocinski, 83, of Johnson City, went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her loving family Sunday January 29, 2017. Sylvia is predeceased by her husband, Terrence E. Bocinski, Sr.; parents, Joseph and Catherine Irnelli; brother and sister in law, Dominick and Antoinette Irnelli; sister, Theresa Valletta; brothers in law, John Fiato and Albert Deangelo; father and mother in law, Leo and Eva Bocinski; brother and sister in law, Howard and Marion Bocinski; brothers in law Leonard and Paul Bocinski. Sylvia is survived by her son, Terrence (Maureen) Bocinski; two precious grandsons, Mitchell and Brenden Bocinski whom she adored; sisters Elise Fiato and Mary Deangelo; brother in law, Frank Valletta; brother and sister in law, Norman and Eve Lee Lanontagne; sister in law, Ann Bocinski; special sister in law, Cathy Bocinski who has been faithfully by her side during these difficult times; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who she thought of all as her children. Sylvia worked at Valley Design as a General Manager for over 30 years before retiring. The holidays will not be the same without her cheesecakes, pies, cakes, cookies and her smiling face. The family would like to thank the staff at James G. Johnston Unit 1 and Wilson Hospital North Tower 2, for all of the love and care they showed to Sylvia over the past several years.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday 9:15 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Church of the Holy Family at 10 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Wednesday from 3-6 pm. Expressions of sympathy in Sylvia’s memory may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 North McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
