Thomas Cheevers 87, died Sunday November 1, 2015 at the NYS Veteran’s Home. He is survived by his children, Michiel and Robert Cole; Thomas and Lisa Cheevers; Mary Charney; Patrick and Sheila Cheevers; Mercedes and Mark Smith; Maureen and Russ Guzewicz; Bernadette and Bob Cronin; Kathleen and Brian Evans, Ellen and David Niefer; eighteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Tom was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Binghamton. He proudly served in the US Navy during World War II on the USS Seneca. He graduated from NYU in 1956. He was a retired Engineer from IBM, and a member of the quarter century club.  He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion Post 80. He helped coach many years of football for Seton Catholic Central.  He was a devoted and loving father and grandfather. His favorite pastimes were Notre Dame Football, singing, and more football. The family would like to thank the exceptional love and care given to him at the NYS Veterans Home.

A Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday 10 am at St Patrick’s Church, 9 Leroy Street, Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home 511-513 East Main Street Endicott Friday 4-7pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Tom may be made to the NY Veterans Home, 4207 State Highway 220, Oxford NY 13830.
