She was a retired Endicott-Johnson employee, a member of the Vestal K of C Women’s Auxiliary and a member of the “Knotters”. Vera has a sign in her dining room that says “Take life by the hand and dance”. To all my family and friends, Oh my Jesus what heavy cross you bear, and at times Dear Lord I thought you were not there, for I am weak my Lord and you are strong and when I stray from you I know that I am wrong. I am like the sheep that wandered from the fold, then you reach out and take a firmer hold. When I am down and all my hopes are dim, you give me strength to carry on again. So take my heart my soul I give to you, give me faith and help to see it through, and let me make your cross a little less to bear. I know it does in every single prayer”.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday June 20th, 10 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vestal. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott Thursday June 18th from 4-7 pm.
