Beatrice J (Betty Jo) Campbell (Scrufari) passed away on Wednesday Feb 21 2024. Beatrice was born on 3/13/35 to Joseph and Beatrice Scrufari. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Raymond, her parents and her sisters Lou Lou and Toni. She is survived by her sisters Kate and Carol, her daughter Debbie Bedford and her husband Jeffrey, her granddaughter Jennifer Kokinda and her husband John, and her grandson Matthew Bedford. She is also survived by her great grandchildren John and Morgan Kokinda.
BJ, as she was known to many, loved looking after children for many years, at her home and as a teacher at Headstart. She loved doing activities, arts and crafts and taking the kids on field trips all over Broome County and beyond. She loved their laughter and watching them grow and she kept all the things they made for her. She also loved to bowl, swim and go on road trips with her family where she would often find side roads for them to take just to see where they went. She will be missed by many.
Private services were held for the family at Vestal Hills Cemetery.

I'm so sorry Debbie and Jeff for the loss of BJ. We spent so many many years of fun, laughter, and oh those bowling trips. So many memories. Your Mom helped me in so many ways. The talks we had and taking care of Chrissy and Jason. They always referred to her and your Dad has Aunt and Uncle. I wished I'd keep in touch. I'm sure your Dad was right there welcoming her to heaven. They were quite the pair. You and the family are in my thoughts and prayers ❤️. Love you guys.

My condolences to BJ's family on the passing of your mother and grandmother. She was a special lady and I have dozens of memories of summers spent at her house. Thirty-five years later and I can still remember lunches on the porch, swimming in the pool, endless games in her yard, THAT BLACK COMB, and of course, her mac and cheese. May you take comfort knowing that she is reunited with Ray.
