Domenico DePersiis, 94, of Endicott, NY passed away peacefully on the morning of April 12, 2024. Domenico was born on January 26, 1930 in Arnara, Italy to Luigi and Giuseppina DePersiis. One of nine children, he is predeceased by his parents as well as brothers Fernando, Giovanni and Anuzzitto and sisters Teresa and Pasquetta.
Domenico is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Giuseppina DePersiis; his sons and their wives Marcello and Cathy DePersiis and Angelo and Tanya DePersiis; his grandchildren Christina (Bill) Haven, Brian (Vanessa) DePersiis, Daniella (Michael) Weston and Desirée (Matthew) McCormick; 6 great grandchild whom he adored, Adeline and Emilia DePersiis, Nina, Olivia and Henry Weston and Ronan McCormick; sisters Maria Piccolo, Antonietta Sundersen and Louisetta Quatrini; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Domenico was born and raised in Arnara, Italy where he built a life with his wife and children before moving his family to Endicott, NY in 1971. He made a career in construction in both Rome and Endicott. Domenico was the definition of a hard worker putting effort, skill and dedication into everything he did. Following retirement, you could find him tending to his expansive garden, making wine or braiding garlic to share with his family and friends on the Northside of Endicott. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
The family would like to thank the staff at Absolut Care for the compassionate care that Domenico received in his final days.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 17 at 11:00AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 300 Odell Avenue, Endicott. Entombment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell, NY.
The family will receive friends Wednesday at church from 10:00AM until Mass time at 11:00AM.
