Giovanni (John) Roma passed away on September 18 at Ideal Senior Living Center after a lengthy illness. He was predeceased by his parents Pasqua and Nicola Roma, his sister and brother-in-law Angelina and Andrea Dioletti of Toledo, Ohio, and brothers in law Benedetto and Angelo Roma.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Antonia, sons Nick (Patricia) and Andy (Katie), grandchildren, Chris, Matthew, and Ellie as well as brother in law Antonio Roma (Franca) and sisters in law Marietta Roma and Marie Roma, nephews, nieces, and many cousins.
He was born in Ceccano, Italy in 1930 and emigrated to America in 1955 where he first worked at Endicott Johnson, then as a construction worker, and, finally, for the Village of Endicott. He loved being with family and friends, making wine, and growing fruits and vegetables in his garden.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday 11 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 306 Odell Avenue, Endicott. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at church Friday from 10 am until Mass time at 11 am.
