Mary was the dearest, kindest and such a generous friend who gave her time making her delicious apple cakes whenever a friend would have a birthday or other occasions...When we would go on our Saratoga bus trips Mary would be serving everyone goodies the entire trip and also all the way home after a full day of racing....

I am Joe and Arlene Rose's daughter, Kathleen. Dad used to golf with Claude (Ju Ju) at the Enjoie Golf Course and then Mary would meet Claude at the golf club for the "19th" hole festivities; my brother Terry and myself would be there as well - we were about 10 years old or so back thenb. Mary was always so nice to my brother and me and we enjoyed seeing and talking with her. She invited us to her house one day to see her talented parakeet perform - that was awesome! I had not seen Mary in over 30 years until one day she popped in to visit my mom when she was at Ideal Nursing facility. Mary must have been very near 90 when she visited and was just as spry as a 60 year old. Mom was so pleased to see her and so was I. What a great woman Mary was -so thoughtful. RIP, Mary - you are with Jesus now.

My gosh, I remember Mary and Claude Lane when I was a kid 70 some years ago! They were my parent's age. In fact they lived next door to my grade school girlfriend, that's how i got to know her. Claude worked with my dad at the West Endicott Fire Station. Our Lady of Good Counsel was our parish - all of us - with many memories which made my faith strong - in fact today is the 49th anniversary of my ordination to the priesthood. I do believe Mary and Claude came to my first mass at Good Counsel on May 18, 1975. I will offer a mass for Mary's swift entry into heaven to be with all those other West Endicott neighbors - a truly loving and caring community! Thank you George F Johnson!

I met Mrs. Lane through my mom, Dorothy DiRienzo Sherman, who had been at Fairview till her passing at 98 last September. I always made sure that Mrs. Lane, at the insistence of my mom, would get a piece of Pizza Rustica, or some of the deserts that I would bring in. She thought very highly of Mrs. Lane and very much enjoyed their conversations. (talking about the old days, and being Italian!) I always liked seeing Mrs. Lane on my visits to the 4th floor (and then the 3rd floor). She was a very sweet lady and It was my good fortune to meet her. Sending Condolences and prayers. Riposa in Pace Mrs. Lane
