Terri Schmitt

Terri L. Schmitt, 64, passed away unexpectedly at home in Endicott, NY on May 11, 2023. Beloved daughter of the late Gary B. and late Nancy Slater (Robbins). Devoted wife of the late Stephen. Loving sister of Gary Lee (Lisa), Craig (Debbie), and Karen and close friends to her in-laws Charles and Rose Schmitt. Cherished friend of and niece to Beverly Besley and her cousin Shannon Slater. Loving aunt to Emily Slater, Kaylin (Michael) Matthews, and Jared (Christine) Slater and to Leah Shea Quackenbush (Jon) and Dylan J. Shea and several great nieces and nephews. Terri and Steve’s young love never got old and lasted to their final days. Both enjoyed quiet times in the woods, camping, boating, gardening, reading, and relaxing at an Outer Banks beach or being with their many friends who became so close to them at their special spot on the lake and to their neighbors in Endicott. Terri spent her formative years in the color guard of the world champion Squires Drum and Bugle Corps in Watkins Glen and later became a well-respected legal secretary working for the Broome County DA’s office and others throughout her career. Terri was an exceptionally hard worker, well respected, and known for her formidable skills. Everyone loved Terri. Her beloved family and friends will always remember her special smile, bright eyes, openness, kindness, and fun-loving spirit – and she will be missed.
There will be no prior visitation, but please leave your expressions of remembrance on the website of Allen Memorial Home at Allenmemorial.com. Funeral services will be privately held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
