Virg was one of my mentors when I hired on at IBM. He was always patient, funny, insightful, and an all around joy to work with. He always found time to help others, especially his younger co-workers. I never once heard him raise his voice or say something unkind about another person. His passing leaves us diminished.

Dear Family of Virgil Meredith, Louise and I extend our deepest sympathy for your loss. Over the years, we have heard of Virgil's multiple hikes to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. May these achievements forever remain in your memories. We also want you to know how fond we are of Amanda. She has been a most trusted employee, a friend, a colleague, and one of these days, will be Ken's boss! Sincerely, Ken and Louise Kramer

Sincere sympathy and prayers to the entire family. Virgil and I were part of the Class of 1959 at Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia, Missouri. We had been friends for over 70 years. He was a fine man and I admired his intensity and intellectual capability. Virgil was part of the "car guy" group and we had some great times attending races together. In our high school days we even worked at the same grocery store. His memory will not go away for myself and many of our classmates. I'm glad I knew Virgil Meredith as a friend and an inspiration.

Amanda Rose Kimler left a message on February 21, 2024:
Poppop was the best grandfather any kid could ask for. He was bragging about his grandkids until moments before he died, he was so proud of his family. He attended all of my sports games, brought us to gymnastics and karate and soccer practice, attended every concert and theater production. He took us to our music lessons and to the park. We explored creeks and trails, and he took us all to the Grand Canyon, Bryce & Zion canyons in 2010. He taught me how to ride a bike. Pop supported every passing hobby I decided to try, even if it only lasted a week. He was the most intense and rule-bound person to play Monopoly I've ever known. I'm so heartbroken, and so honored to have been able to hold his hand as he moved on from this life's adventure to whatever lies beyond. Happy 83rd birthday, Pop. I love you.
