Anne Seaver Harrington, 85, of Endwell New York and Colchester Vermont, died Monday March 25th. Beloved wife of Donald for 63 years. Predeceased by daughter Nancy Harrington Denning, and sister Priscilla Seaver Anderson. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter Betsy (Dave) Hoffman of St. Paul Minnesota, son Richard Harrington of Endwell, daughter Janet (Mark) Mattis of Niskayuna, New York, son-in-law Kevin Denning of Endwell, and dear sister Martha Kimball of Lexington Massachusetts, as well as several nieces, nephews grandnieces, grand nephews and close friend Terry Davidson. Her grandchildren, Marianne and Michael Denning, Luke (Dani), and Laura Hoffman, Caroline and Anna Mattis always treasured the great fun and crazy adventures they had with their grandma or “Graham Cracker” as she was affectionately known by the younger grand kids. Born in Woburn Massachusetts, Anne was a New Englander at heart. She was a graduate of Melrose High and Pembroke College/Brown University where she majored in Art. While there she met the love of her life as a dance partner in a musical production which, low and behold led to a loving friendship and marriage of more than 60 years. After growing up surrounded by family heirlooms, Anne developed a passion for antiques and turned this passion into a successful business. She was soon surrounded by many good friendships which grew from her involvement in what she so enjoyed. In addition to running a successful business, Anne was always known for her impressive creative streak. Anne was a talented painter and her work has been prominently displayed in her families’ homes. As little girls, Anne’s granddaughters so often wore her gorgeous hand smocked dresses, many of which were awarded blue ribbons at the Champlain Valley Fair in Essex Junction, Vermont. Her wide variety of interests included politics, reading, and closely following her beloved Boston Red Sox. Her favorite season was Spring Training. Anne looked forward to being in Vermont where familygathered at their summer place on Lake Champlain. There, she shared many happy times with family and special friends. Her appreciation of strong family bonds and the beauty of Vermont were passed on to her children and grandchildren. Anne will be remembered for her infectious smile, quick wit, deep love and commitment to her family, and her ability to find humor in any situation. “Pickles” was her favorite comic strip and she set the tone for the day by reading that first. Anne will be missed by all whose lives she touched and will be remembered with much love and affection. Please join family and friends for a time of fellowship and remembrance from 10:00 am – 11:30 amat Northminster Presbyterian Church, Endwell with a memorial celebration following.Contributions preferred in lieu of flowers to either: The Nancy Harrington Denning ScholarshipCollege at Oneonta Foundation, 308 Netzer Administration Building, SUNY Oneonta, Oneonta, NY 13820, or Shelburne Museum,6000 Shelburne Road, PO Box 10, Shelburne, VT 05482
