Tony grew up on Susquehanna Street in Binghamton with his parents, two older sisters, and younger brother. The neighborhood, the corner store, and St. Mary’s church were major elements of his early life. He loved spending time with his family, especially summers together in Bethany Beach, Delaware and watching his granddaughters excel at lacrosse. He was widely known and respected in the family for his ability to fix or build anything, and was proud of his “Mr. Fix-it” moniker. He was a very successful businessman, having owned and run multiple construction companies in both Binghamton, NY and Northern Virginia. He got his start in the structural steel fabrication industry in the 1960s through the mid-1980s when he transitioned into general contracting until his retirement in 2007. He held positions of Vice President, Director, and Secretary of both the Associated General Contractors Association of Binghamton and the New York State Steel Fabricators Association. He also served on the board in various capacities of the Central New York Chapter of the Subcontractors Association and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Nocturnal Adoration Society.
