Chester B. Deering, 87, passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton.He was pre-deceased by his wife, Jennie and his son, Danny.He is survived by a daughter and son in law, Deborah and Herman Haggenmiller, Penfield, NY, a son and daughter in law, Thomas and Donna Deering, Cortland, NY, three grandchildren; Brian and Lori Haggenmiller, Robert and Jennifer Deering and Melissa and Nathan Whidden, 2 great grandchildren, Amanda Haggenmiller and Ryan Whidden.He is also survived by a special niece, Barbara Pitcher and several other nieces and nephews.Chester was retired from IBM in Endicott after 38 years of service and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a W.W.II Veteran serving with the U.S. Navy and was a member of American Legion Post 1700, Endicott.He was a volunteer at Meals on Wheels and was an avid golfer and dancer. Funeral Services will be held Sunday 3 pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott at the convenience of the family.
