Joan Petrunich, passed on June 30, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Plains Township, Pennsylvania and attended Catholic Grade school there and also graduated from Business College. Joan Petrunich, passed on June 30, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Plains Township, Pennsylvania and attended Catholic Grade school there and also graduated from Business College. Before her illness, Joan was a very active member of several Catholic Church societies, a religious instructor for several years, and also worked with special children at the public school. Joan led a life that should be an example to all. She was a loving, caring wife and mother; and friend to anyone in need. She will be missed by all and as she moves on to her well-deserved peace in heaven. Joan is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 52 years, George Petrunich; son, Kevin and his wife Carrie (Battaglini) Petrunich; grandchildren, Nicolas and Gianna; daughter, Karen Messenger and her husband Charles and grandchildren, Carly, Michelle and Rachel; brother-in law, Ronald Petrunich and his wife Maryanne and their two children, Ronald Jr. and Robert; dear cousins, Herman and Maxine Zappe; special niece, Danette Dulny and her husband Kirk Davis; special nephew, Chris Dulny and his wife Stacey and their two children, Bryan and Katie; and dear brother-in law, Daniel Dulny. Joan was predeceased and will join her beloved sister, Bernice Dulny; mother, Helen (Narsavage) Brysky and father, Bernard Bryski. A Memorial Mass at The Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis St., Endwell will be given by Father Clarence Rumble on Saturday, July 7, 2012. The family will receive friends at 10:00 am until the memorial service begins at 11:00 am. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Plains, Pennsylvania at a later date. The Family of Joan would like to extend a Special Thank You for all the support in time of need to dear friends, Marie Parasch, Cathy Steika, Frances Doncov, Elaine Shivell and many, many others – A sincere thanks.
