Dennis Mitzner left a message on December 22, 2019:
Allyson and family: Words cannot express our sorrow of Joe's passing. He was a good friend, although miles kept us apart, he was always in our hearts. Looking at the attached picture from one of our more recent Army Security Agency reunions in Kingston, OH, Joe is caught in a familiar pose. It was a pose many of us practiced throughout our lives and one we will remember of Joe. As I've mentioned before, Joe had no hidden agendas. What you saw was what you got. He was a great guy. He will be missed, but never forgotten. I think I can speak for all those in this picture, in saying that it was our honor to have served with Joe in the United States Army. Out thoughts and prayers go out to your family. At this time of year, I want you to know that we are thinking of you and have you in our hearts. Denny
